Michael attended Indianapolis Public School #26 and Crispus Attucks High School. He would later serve in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Indianapolis to begin a 40 year career at General Motors retiring in 2000.
Michael was always a gentle soul, with a unique sense of humor. As a young boy and into his adulthood, he had the gift of help. These characteristics paired along with his captivating smile, Michael met and married the love of his life Norma Whitsey on December 10, 1960. Their bond produced 4 children with grandchildren to follow.
Michael was an avid bowler, garnering several perfect games. He also enjoyed watching sports, westerns, and spending time with his family.
Michael joined Northside Wesleyan Church, which is now Divine Direction Church, in 1983. He served the church in many capacities; mail choir, treasurer, bible study leader, deacon and caretaker who loved keeping the church clean. He served as Head Deacon until his passing.
Michael was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Michael entered eternal rest Monday, January 4, 2021, at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Deforest Grayson, Richard Grayson, Alice Grayson Johnson, Sherman Grayson, and Leighowen Snorten.
Those surviving to cherish his memories; wife Norma of 60 years, children: Marsha Whitsey, Norman W. Whitsey “Butch”, Norris W. Grayson “Bamm”, and Norvin W. Grayson “Boo”; brothers: McKinley Grayson, Cornelius Snorten, and Howard Snorten; sisters: Dorinna Lash, Florence (Frank) Ball, Juanita (David) Artis, Elma Lynch, and Omie Spivey; 4 grandchildren: Nikita, Norris Jr., Shayla and Kahla; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended loving relatives and cherished friends.
