87, of Indianapolis, departed this life August 28, 2010. She was born May 13, 1923 in Indianapolis to Guy and Ruth (Grant) Armstrong. Mary had a true love of family and horses and co-owned Just-Us Stables for over 35 years. She was a long time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge. Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Mark E. Starks and Thomas O. McDowell and daughter, Patricia Louise McDowell. She is survived by her beloved children, Ruth Ann McClellan, Kathleen (David) Burgess, D. Thomas (Mary) McDowell and Damian McDowell; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 1st at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 AM and conclude at time of service.
