Linda Jane (Huggins) Arnold was born on September 11, 1936 to Richard E. and Louise (Eickhoff) Huggins. Linda passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 5, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert D. Arnold.
Mrs. Arnold grew up in Irvington and attended IPS 57 and T.C. Howe High School, graduating in 1954. She graduated from Lake Forest College (Illinois) in January 1958, and received a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Butler University in June 1964. Linda taught at IPS 89 for two years, and then moved to MSD Lawrence Township where she taught in several schools until her retirement in June 1971.
Linda married Robert (Bob) Arnold on January 16, 1970. They raised two children, Emily and Eric, and were very active in their lives. Linda was a member of the Indianapolis Day Nursery Auxiliary and Second Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader and worked crossword puzzles in pen. As a sports enthusiast, she was always ready to cheer on the Butler Bulldogs, the IU Hoosiers, and the Pacers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, Nicholas, and Ryan.
Survivors include her daughter: Emily (Kerk) McKeon; Son: Eric Arnold; Grandsons: Nicholas and Ryan McKeon; and sister: Andrea (Charles) Flaks.
A private graveside service, with immediate family was held at Crown Hill Cemetery.
