My heart very heavy. Sandman was an amazing Supply SGT and mentor to me. After he PCS from Hawaii he would always call every each year around this time. Ask me how I was doing and keep me straight.  Had a way to make me see a positive way to about Supply and my thinking of taking care of soldiers..  I will miss him deeply.  

I will dedicate this Dec 10th 2022 GFB Camp to him.

It is truly a sad day, to know that SFC Sanders aka Sandman, has left us. He was a good man, and a great mentor. As a young Private First Class, I would get scoldings, as most of us do in the Army. But Sandman would come along and coach us and teach us to be a better person. To him, being a better person inside would lead us to become better soldiers later on. SFC Sanders had such a greatness in him, that he would share a part of himself with others. I am truly honored having known him, served with him, deployed with him, and to have been counseled by him. I will truly miss this man. 

I'm sorry I didn't get this in time, I don't do texts. My prayers are with you all. 

SFC Sanders was the consummate professional Soldier and an exemplary NCO, being a servant leader to all he cared for. He never hesitated to roll up his sleeves to get the job done, stay late to help a Soldier in need and do whatever it took to make sure the mission was accomplished.  I will miss him dearly. May the perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace!

Junie, (Leonard) I’m going to miss you my cousin, my neighbor and repair guy and friend, and your calls  asking if  we want to go eat (Pam and  I) cuz? I love you will you.
Thanks Junie for sharing your kindness, time and knowledge.  I must remember that goodbyes are not forever nor the end.  They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again.  Love cousin Pam!

Junie,  I will always remember our talks. We would talk for hours. Well I did most of the talking you just listened and I will always remember that. Love you so much. 

I will best remember Junie for his willingness and availability to help others and never taking life for granted. Overall a good man. I miss him already. Rest easy Sergeant…

May God bring peace and comfort to all of you, I love all of you and many blessings to everyone.

Leonard Jr. was one of the best people I know.He showed love to all of his people.  He made me feel special every birthday. He called and song to me on the phone, he recorded it. He told me he wanted to be close to his mom and dad, to help them out. I know yall are proud of him. He truly  loved you all. This is not good bye but until we meet again.

The military has a way of placing people in your life, often briefly but never insignificant. Leonard will forever be remembered and admired. I am sending my sincerest condolences to the family and all of his loved ones. I pray that love, light, and understanding surround you in this difficult time.

We lost one of the greatest men/Soldiers when your son died. He gave his all to everything he tried and always set an example incredible example.   Leonard would always  respond  with  anything is possible  when asked a question.  I always believed this answer was given because of the value he put on giving his word.  For if he gave it you could count on him. May he rest in peace.   He will truly be missed.

My deepest most sincere sympathies to the family of Mr. Sanders. I enjoyed visiting with him as I performed my visits with his father. We always seemed to try and solve the problems of the world .  I will miss him
