Larry Terry was born September 26, 1944, in the city of Indianapolis to William and Deliah Terry. He was the youngest of six siblings, three brothers and three sisters. He was a member of Greater Northwest Baptist Church, where he confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He received his formal education at Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Larry worked for International Harvester for 46 years. He also worked his way up the ranks from Union Steward, to Committeeman, to Chairman of the Policy Committee. He was then promoted to Local Representative for UAW, and later became the International Representative.
Some of the activities Larry was involved outside of work included fishing, hunting, music, and bowling. He also enjoyed hot rods and going to see them race. He even took extensive care of plants.
He married Joan Marie Boyd-Terry on October 17th, 1962, in Indianapolis. He had four children during their 51 years of marriage.
Larry is preceded in death by wife: Joan Marie Terry; brother John Terry, brother Len Terry, sister Margie Warner, sister Mary Herron; father William Terry, and mother Deliah Terry
Larry is survived by his son Pastor Larry Terry Jr. (Debora), son Jeffrey Terry (Shelby), daughter Katrina Terry-Brown, daughter Quida Terry; sister Grace Wells; grandson Brandon Brown (Melissa), grandson LeAndre Terry, granddaughter Nadia Terry, granddaughter Brianna Martin, granddaughter Brandi Martin, granddaughter Lauryn Terry, granddaughter Sydney Terry, and 14 great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be at 10am to 12pm on July 28th, 2022, at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Funeral Service will be held at 12pm on July 28th, 2022, at Crown Hill Cemetery.
