She was born March 22, 1936 in Medora, Indiana to the late Curtis Reynolds and Thelma June (Mize) Childers and graduated from Shields High School in Seymour, Indiana.
She was working as a telephone operator in downtown Indianapolis, when she met her future husband, Bernard McShea. Jan helped Bernie start Indy Grinding Wheel Service that they ran together until his death in 2009.
Jan loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and was happy to meet her two great-great grandchildren.
She loved taking vacations and especially traveling to Florida. She enjoyed seeing the ocean and visiting amusement parks. Jan also had a great love of shopping, especially looking for bargains. Weekends usually consisted of her grocery shopping and bargain hunting with her oldest daughter Debbie. She also enjoyed her computer games and Facebook.
Jan was the first of four children and was preceded in death by her husband Bernard L. McShea, her brother Kenneth Ray Reynolds and her sister Karen Rawley. Jan is survived by her sister; Sally Newkirk, her five children; Debbie (Dave) Goens, Sherri Lewis, Kelli Grundy, Michelle (Eric) Heavrin and Michael (Megan) McShea. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 15th, 2017 at Little and Sons Funeral Home, Stop 11 Road Chapel and the funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 16th, 2017. Burial will follow at Acton Cemetery.
