90, of Indianapolis, passed away January 2, 2017. He was born June 10, 1926 in Huntington, WV the son of the late William Henry and Janice Lackey. Gene was the owner of Building Specialist, Inc. for 51 years. He was a WW II veteran of the Marine Corp., honorary Past Grand Commander of 9th Templar of Indianapolis and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #564 Pentalpha. He is survived by his two children: Elissa Vernon and Michael (Garnet) Lackey, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Gene was preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years: Mildred Lackey and his second wife of 16 years: Zelma Lackey. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 7, at 1:00 pm in Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary with visitation from 10 am until time of service.
