George received his formal education in the Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated with his high school diploma from Broad Ripple High School. After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army in 1964. He served as a Radio Teletype Operator while stationed in France during his time of service. After the military, he continued his career at Chrysler, RCA, and Fort Benjamin Harrison – Defense Finance and Accounting Services. He later retired from Fort Benjamin Harrison after over a decade of service.
George gave his life to Christ and was baptized on September 13, 2015, at the age of 69 years old at Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis, IN. He was a dedicated member until his passing and was loved by his church family.
George was a family man that loved his sisters and was always there when they needed him. He was a devoted, selfless, and unwavering father to his daughter. George was enjoyed by those that encountered him because of his cool demeanor and kind personality. He was an avid dancer, music lover, and bowler. He was admired for being light on his feet on the dance floor and at the bowling alley. George was known for his signature hop when bowling and popularizing “the horse” at all family functions. He was extremely intelligent with a wide variety of knowledge about cars, birds, and many other topics. He always embraced a good debate and an opportunity to watch his favorite shows Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Young and the Restless, and the Bold and the Beautiful.
George White Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the age of 76 years old. He was proceeded in death by his mother Anniebelle White, father George White Sr., sisters Evelyn Watts and Elizabeth Dawson.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his only child and daughter Le’Joy White and three sisters, Shirley Quirk, Doris Reed (Carlton), and Lorena Portericker. As well as a loving host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.
Service for Mr. George Olive White will be held, 11:00 am Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at Eastern Star Church, 5750 30th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation held from 9:30 am, until time of service held at 11:00 am, where all will take place at the Church.
Interment will follow at New Crown Cemetery, 2101 Churchman Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana,
