Franklin Miller Conly

Franklin (Frank) Miller Conly (63) passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on September 2nd, 2024 at IU Bloomington Hospital. He was born January 9th, 1961 in Indianapolis, IN to Marjorie and Morris Conly, he was also the youngest of 6 children.

Frank Graduated from North Central High School in 1979 where he was enthusiastic about football and gained the nickname “Frank the Tank”. After graduation, he went on to Ball State University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing in 1983 minoring in athletic training eventually continuing his education and earning his master's in nursing from IUPUI. Frank had a successful nursing career working at Wishard Hospital, Community South, and Methodist Hospital gaining friendships and being a mentor along the way till his retirement. His specialties were ICU and Emergency department nursing.

Throughout Frank's lifetime, he dedicated his life to helping others starting at a young age. During his teenage years, he was a lifeguard at The Riviera Club in Indianapolis, IN, an EMT during his college years, he was active with the Indiana Disaster Medical Assistance Team and American Red Cross. If there was ever an opening or opportunity to help someone in need, he was on it!

Frank also very much enjoyed the outdoors, he became an Eagle Scout at the age of 13, he liked to camp, scuba-dive and kayak. He was active with Revere Riders, Sons of The American Revolution, and was an all-around firearm enthusiast. Frank was also adamant about attending various high school varsity football games depending on where he was at the time.

Grandkids were the highlight of Frank's life along with his dog Bailey and tinkering on various projects in the garage. He is survived by daughter Makenzie (Corbin) Harness of Monon, IN, son Joshua Conly, son Nathanial Conly of Texas, Stepdaughters Rachelle (Marvin) Foxworthy of Edinburgh, IN, Lynlee (John) Lafary of Morgantown, IN, Hannah (Jarett) Johnson of Martinsville, IN, stepson Brayden Olmsted of Nashville, IN. stepbrothers Michael (Elaine) Conly of Indianapolis, IN, Timothy Conly of Arizona, stepsisters Sally Conly, and Emily Conly. Along with many friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Marjorie and Morris Conly, as well as stepbrother Daniel Conly.

Frank was a simple man and did not want traditional funeral services, a celebration of life will be scheduled and announced for a later date.
