Eleanor "Nora" T. Thompson

Eleanor “Nora” T. Thompson, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away July 18, 2019. She was born September 23, 1925 in Indianapolis to the late Frank and Eleanora (Koers) Cardis. She received an Associate’s degree from Marian College. She was employed by Union Federal Savings Bank for over 10 years, Wabash Life Insurance Company for over 28 years; where she was one of the first female managers in the loan department; and concluded her career at Clark, Quinn, Moses, Scott, and Grahn Law Firm, where she had over 20 years of service. Nora was not one who wanted to retire early.

Nora enjoyed newspaper crossword puzzles and followed a number of sports. She was a huge Pacers and Colts fan, but also enjoyed watching baseball.

Nora is survived by her four daughters, Therese “Terri” (Mark) Heiser, Barbara (Randy) Reynolds, Linda “Lynn” (Geoff) Hicks, and Sharon Schubert; grandchildren, Andrew (Christa) Heiser, Thomas (Haley) Heiser, Allison (Cory) Zwickle, Nate Hicks, Trevor Schubert, and Carson Schubert; great grandchildren, Austin Downs, Francesca Colette-Hicks, Vincent Colette-Hicks, and one to arrive in November; and brothers, John(Phyllis) Cardis and Thomas (Sheila) Cardis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert A. Thompson in 2007, and her siblings, Frank Cardis, Mary Pluckebaum, James Cardis, Richard Cardis, and Rose McGraw.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 2-6 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, IN.
