Edward L. Williams Sr.

MR. EDWARD LAMONT WILLIAMS, SR. was born on January 31, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the son of the late Edward E. and Ruby C. Williams. He was the only boy of four children. One sister preceded him in death.

EDWARD accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He served faithfully as a member of the Junior and Youth Choir, Male Chorus, Junior Brotherhood, and Sunday Church School. EDWARD united with the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in May of 2010 where he continued his spiritual journey.

EDWARD enjoyed reading, bowling, and listening to music. He was an avid sports fan! He enjoyed watching any and ALL sports.

He attended IPS Schools 18 and 66, St. Joan of Arc, and Shortridge High School. He continued his education earning an Associate Degree in Business from Ivy Tech College.

EDWARD began his employment with the United States Postal Service in October 1985. He retired after 31 years of faithful service.

EDWARD was a dearly devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was kind-hearted and would help you if he could.

MR. EDWARD LAMONT WILLIAMS, SR. departed this earthly life on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the age of sixty-five years, eight months, and six days.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Edward LaMont (Tiffany) Williams, Jr.; three granddaughters, Dionysus Brown, Honey Brown, and Halo Williams; two sisters, Shirley Perdue and Ruby Elaine Williams-Smith; two aunts, Priscilla Williams and Loyce Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the New Salem Baptist Church family.
