Duane D. Perry Jr.

in Fort Wayne, IN. He entered into God’s kingdom Monday, December 25, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN.

Duane accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 23. During his meaningful journey, he graduated from Northwest High School in 1991. He was a multi-sports athlete excelling in football, basketball and baseball, in which, he received a scholarship in baseball at Indiana Tech Fort Wayne.

He served in the Air Force and later became a member of the United States National Guard. He worked at Diversified Systems as a Technical Electronic Technician.

Duane entered in to holy matrimony to Zemetria on August 21, 1999. Later he became a loving devoted father to two children, Duane Zion Jr. and Zayla.

Duane was a “Entrepreneur at Heart”. He left Diversified Systems to go into his own business as a barber for many years, later to open his own barbershop, DP’s Multicultural Barber Shop. He was known as a dedicated multi-business owner who hated to turn down an opportunity to help. He closed the shop to pursue his passion to mixing music on the 1s and 2s, becoming a well loved and respected

deejay, known as “DJDP”. If he wasn’t busy already, he started his successful garage door business, Guardian Locksmith Garage Door Repairs, LLC. He also was a member of the ClassicMens organization.

Duane had a contagious personality and natural charm to make friends no matter where he was. His laugh would light up the room and he had the ability to engage in deep conversation that was infectious to everyone around him. A man with many stories and sound advice that inspired people around him.

Duane, the most loving and devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend is survived by his son, Duane Zion Perry, Jr.; daughter, Zayla Grace Danielle Perry; former wife, Zemetria Barnes; mother, Lois Perry; father, Duane D. Perry Sr.; sister, Latisha (Kevin) Guinn; one nephew, Leland Perry; five nieces, Ajanee Perry, Shamaya Lewis, Sasha Quinn, Kindra Quinn, Zoe Quinn; three grandnieces, will be forever ingrained in all our hearts.

A visitation for Duane will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rise Church, 6001 W 52nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46254, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
