Dona M. Kelley, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 15, 2024 in Indianapolis. Dona was born in Indianapolis, IN to Carl and Margaret Keithley on November 1, 1932. She went to school in Indianapolis, graduating from George Washington High School. She took a two year course in a business school to learn secretarial skills. She Married John A Kelley on May 25, 1957. After 17 years of marriage they divorced in 1974. She served approximately three years in School 49 PTA, two terms as President. She worked as a volunteer for the senate campaign of Richard Lugar and became a full time staffer after he was elected to the Senate. She retired in 2013. Above all else, she loved her family. Dona is preceded in death by her parents Carl & Margaret Keithley and her sister Sharon Wright-Beai and her former husband John A Kelley. Dona is survived by her stepdaughter Vicki (Joe) Lawrence; son John (Beth) Kelley; her grandsons David Kelley and Matthew (Stephanie) Kelley; nephew Aaron (Leeza) Wright; nieces Nancy (Matt) Stephens, and Mary (Mike) Schroeder. Also she was great aunt to: Sophia, Brody, Jackson, Luke, Ava, Grace, Ella, Scarlett, and Hunter. Calling will be held 10AM Saturday February 3rd at Crown Hill Funeral Home, Remembrance Hall, 700 W 38th St., Indianapolis Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday February 3rd at Crown Hill Funeral Home, Remembrance Hall, 700 W 38th St., Indianapolis with the Pastor Daniel Miller of Meridian Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be give to St. Jude.org. The family of Dona Kelley wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Community South Hospital surgical and palliative care team who took very good care of her in her last days. Dona was very devoted to her family. We love her and will miss her.
