CARRIE BELL, affectionately known as "Sister," peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, June 17, 2022, surrounded by her family.
SISTER was born November 2, 1937, to the late K. C. and Marell Merri-weather. Carrie Bell was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was united with Denmark Baptist Church in Denmark, Tennessee and later with Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis, Indiana where she was a devoted member and avid tither for over 44 years.
SISTER was a standout basketball player at Denmark High School and graduated in 1955.
SISTER united in holy matrimony with Ivory D Ellison (Bo) in 1957. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2006. To this union no biological children were born but Sister and Bo had the privilege of sharing in the life of their niece and nephew, Tracy, and Reggie.
SISTER was employed at numerous jobs throughout the early years after moving to Indianapolis. She retired from AT&T after many years of service.
SISTER was preceded in death by one brother, Archie Lee Hennings, two sisters, Pearline Watkins, and Willie Marie Rutherford.
SISTER will be deeply missed by her sisters, Geraldine Ellison, Thelma Givens and Rada Samuels, Jackson Tn. Leanna Merriweather, and Mary (Robert) Sykes, Indianapolis, IN. Bettye Merriweather, Milwaukee, Wi. Lizzie (Norman) White, Chicago, II. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Caregivers, Masseline Holmes, Venitha Coleman and Sheila Wells, your loving care to our sister was always noticed and very much appreciated.
