Anne Moore Shotwell Bosworth was born in Indianapolis Indiana on March 7. 1936. She graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1954. She attended the University of Michigan in 1955 then later IUPUI accruing lots of credits but not enough in any one discipline for a degree. Her love of reading and learning was passed on to her children. She married her first love, David W Bosworth in 1955 joining him in France, where he served immediately following the Korean Conflict. Together, they explored Europe while enjoying their newly married life. Returning to Indianapolis as a Wife and Mother she joined the Junior League, helping in the Next to New Shop. She and David were heavily involved in the La Leche League encouraging Natural Childbirth and Breast Feeding. She was a homemaker for many years raising her children before entering the job market. She worked for Sears, once winning a lunch with the store manager for the Best Halloween Costume in the whole store. She was a receptionist for Square D Electrical working her way to Sales Rep calling on customers and helping them stock their businesses. Over her life, her love of travel led her to many places both in Europe and the United Staes as well as other exotic locales. Even after her diagnosis with MS she continued to travel with her husband using Trains and Cruise Ships to allow her to explore new places. After being forced to retire due to the MS she volunteered as co-leader of the Northside MS Support Group and taught water aerobics at the Jewish Community Center where she had been taking classes to maintain her mobility. She had a winning attitude, always looking at the glass half full not half empty. Even with the MS she never let it beat her. Always doing what she wanted even if it took longer or was hard, not complaining just doing. She celebrated 51 years with David before he passed in 2006 but never dwelt on the loss, preferring to enjoy the things she still had left and her two children. She is survived by her Daughter Sheila Bosworth daughter in law Tommie Mattox, Son Guy, sister Sylvia (Bob) Long and nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and daughter by choice Alice Homes (Gordon) and exchange students Sven Olaf Gerdes (Adam), Bjoern Minnier (Heike), She has been living at Hooverwood Nursing home where she was cared for by the wonderful staff who helped to make these last years of her life a positive time. We thank them for the love and support she received in their care. She passed peacefully with family by her side. A private burial by her husband’s side at Indianapolis Washington East is planned with a future Memorial service at a time yet to be decided.
Donations may be made to the National MS Society or the American Heart Association which took her husband before his time.
