Ann H. Welch
85, of Indianapolis, originally from Covington, Kentucky died on March 1, 2010. She was the daughter of the late M. Henry and Bertha Bach Hils. Ann is survived by her children: Theresa (Alonzo) Nees, Agnes Taylor, Mary (William) Aiken, Rita Welch, Thomas (Bonnie) Welch, Vincent (Pamela) Welch, Grace (William Scott) Welch, Bernard Welch, Martha (Michael) Mendez, Peter (Julie) Welch, Edward (Elizabeth) Welch, Magdalen (David) Zauner, and Gregory Welch; her siblings: Jude (Marjean) Hils, David ( Elizabeth) Hils, Joan Schulte, Martin (Kathleen) Hils, and Joyce (Robert) Blanchet, her 20 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Ann is also survived by her in-laws: Janet Hils, Adolph Chrapla, Carolyn Welch, Virginia Flanagan, and Barbara Welch.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Welch; her siblings: Ellen May Goeke, Flora Schnorbus, Reverend Henry Hils, Clement Hils, and Mary Rose Hils.
Ann was a graduate of Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing and the College of Mount Saint Joseph on the Ohio. She practiced as a nurse educator and as a staff nurse at several facilities in the Indianapolis area.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 5, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Services will be 9:30 am Saturday, March 6, at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
The family is especially grateful to the staff at Hooverwood for the dedicated and loving care they provided to Mom during her last years.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s favorite charity.
