Jamie was such a good friend. That friendship was on they ice for either the same or opposing teams to his frequent visits to my parents farm. Also sharing some University classes and a few adult beverages at the Lazy owl. Jamie made ever get together more fun. I will miss him. Condolences to all family!

My condolences to all of Jamie's family. I met Jamie early during my time at Sask Polytech, and always appreciated his leadership style, his insights, his vision for our organization, and his ability to calmly and effectively lead through both the good and the challenging times.  He was practical, thoughtful, engaging and had time for everyone. He will be greatly missed by our organization!

To Jamie’s family.  I am so sorry for your loss.  Gosh I’ve known this guy forever.  My favourite memory of him was when he first did his internship in teaching.  Jamie is going teach, yes... but now finds out he has to coach girls vball.  One week before school starts, he shows up at my house and says,  I’ve never played vball now they want me to coach, help me Winnie.  He says teach me everything in 5 days lol!  So out comes my drill books,  how to run a defence, switching, learning to do every skill with perfection, he told me really!  I said you don’t need to do it yourself that’s why I gave you pictures.  He was a hockey player thru and thru!  He was kind, tough, compassionate and funny.  He was always trying his best to make the indigenous students feel comfortable coming into Sask Polytechnic. May the spirits look after you when they come to greet you my dear friend. I’m going to miss you


I had the privilege of knowing Jamie at work, enjoyed talking at the gym and taking in a few rounds of golf. I always appreciated the conversations we had and the advice he gave me whenever I had questions. Jamie accomplished great things at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and it benefited the programs and the students he served. You will be missed my friend but your accomplishments will be appreciated for many years to come. I send my condolences to all the family.

Jamie and his family became part of our family when Jordyn and Trevor married in 2018.  We spent good times at the cabin and had many enjoyable hours watching football games on TV, while  enjoying supper together. Jamie always smiled when we had homemade jello salads & mashed potatoes, as he would take a second helping.  We all will miss the happiness you brought to our home.  RIP Jaime❤️

Jamie was an inspiration to me of what a Dean should be. He was approachable and very easy to talk to and listen to. His compassion was second to none. You will be missed Jamie.



To Jamie's family, colleagues and students,  I am so sorry for your loss.  I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie when I was a Board member of SIAST/Saskpolytechnic. Jamie embodied all that is excellent about this institution; his enthusiasm, his knowledge and his care about delivering quality education to students who would then go on to contribute to Saskatchewan's workforce.  He made things happen and brought those around him, along with him.  Thankful for his time - he made a difference.

I'm am so saddened to hear of Jamie's passing! I had the pleasure of working with him, at SaskPolytech. Jamie was always up for a visit and some visits turned into debates, memories that will be treasured. 
Jamie wasn't just a colleague, he was a true friend.  You will be missed my friend. "See you later alligator" 

Since I moved away from Saskatchewan more than 40 years ago I have had only a couple of chances to reconnect with Jamie when I returned home but when we did it was like we'd never been apart. We spent a lot of time together at family reunions and visits to the farm and at our place in Regina as teenagers - lots of fun. Rest in peace cousin.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jamie's death.  He was a firecracker that is for certain.  I was delighted to see how well he had done after he graduated from school.  Many a friend and colleague have wonderful memories of him.

My wife, Laura, and I first met Jamie in 1998 when we all worked together at Northern Lights College, Fort Nelson campus.  Jamie and remained professionally in contact since that time as our roles within the Canadian post secondary system  continued to evolve over the years. One thing never changed; Jamie's passion  for education and his dedication to students and community.  He was a small town guy at heart who told it how it was. I always appreciated that and we will miss him greatly.  A truly good man and  good friend. Sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. 

This was the last picture of my dad I have, and it’s an amazing memory since I remember him always saying, yeah who needs grandkids.  He was like I am fine, no need.  I know it was always the idea of being old, since the moment my first daughter was born he was in love.  Than the birth of my second gave him that rare smile.

Jamie could pitch ideas like nobody else.  He was a visionary, his enthusiasm was contagious and he was very down-to-earth. I was so sad to hear of his passing.  My sincere condolences to the many impacted by this loss.

So grateful to have maintained a lifelong friendship with Jamie since we were  all kids growing up (and partying) in Indian Head.  Each time seeing the other, we would just pick up where we left off.  Jamie could be counted on to light up a room with his voice, laughter and larger-than-life personality. He will be missed. Deepest sympathy to Irene and Debbie, his children and all of the family and friends mourning this loss. 

My heartfelt sympathy to Jamie’s family. I knew your dad, your grandpa, through work we both did in the college system. Jamie was the most wonderful, kind, and patient human being and I looked forward to joining him at our twice annual NCDATT meetings. Everyone loved and respected Jamie and we will all cherish our precious memories of him. 🌹

 I am so very grateful we reconnected in the last few years. Jamie never changed much from the time we knew him as teenagers to 30 + years later collaborating with him with his vision of where he wanted to take his programs and Sask Polytech next. He was still larger than life, a brilliant mentor, visionary, true gentlemen and friend. I will be forever grateful for the business connections Jamie aligned and trusted me with. My most sincere condolences to Jamie’s family. He was a favorite Dean on all four campuses of Sask Poly and will be missed. 

I can’t quite picture my life without Jamie being a part of it. He was one of those larger than life persons. 
He was loud, brash funny and quite often rude 😄, but he was also kind, interested, and a great Dad, son, brother and friend. He never seemed to age.
Jamie and I once went to a disco party. We had to dress in costume, he pretty much came looking as he always did, hockey hair and ‘Stache. A woman came up to him, tugged on that moustache saying  “Best costume ever!”.  Jamie loved it!
I’m so sorry for your loss, Jordyn, Kelsey, Irene and Debbie. I know his leaving will leave a huge void in your lives. It will in mine. You have always been one of my favourite people Jamie. Rest  in Peace.

I remember the family get togethers at your farm when we were kids. We had such fun times.  I haven’t seen Jamie in years, but it seems he remained the same fun loving, kind person I remember. My condolences to you, Irene, Debbie and family.

I am saddened to hear this news. I knew Jamie many years ago in high school. My deepest sympathy to all his family. 

I met Jaime about 5 years ago, and every time we talked about programs at Sask Poly it was so inspiring listening to him. He genuinely cared about his work and the opportunities we were collaborating on. Only thing that ever got in the way of talking about these opportunities was talking about the Riders. I'll be at the game Friday night Jamie and I'll be thinking of you.

So saddened to hear of Jamie’s passing.  Have lots of high school memories with Jamie but recently reunited the friendship planning our school reunion.  After the reunion the group continued to meet for supper once a month. There was many long suppers of talking about old memories.  Jamie had the best memory for stories.  So much fun and will truly miss our get togethers.  My deepest condolences to his family. Jamie often talked of his girls and his visits home to see mom

I played hockey with Jamie and what a great team mate and friend he was. I remember his umpiring fastball not only in our old A.D.E.M. league, but many tournaments. The world has lost one truly good person. He will be sadly missed.

 I have many great memories from  high school and especially our class  trip to Europe in 1976.  I am sure that he was a positive influence on many young adults during his career.  You’ll always miss Jamie, but he’ll always be with you in the memories you keep, the stories your family tells, the laughter you share, and the love you all hold for him. May those good things help heal the hurt in time.

When I heard this sad sad news I was completely blind sided. Jamie had passed. No can't be.  Memories came flooding back from school, from our Europe trip, and on and on. i had to dig out the yearbook.

Very sorry to hear this. Jamie was a great hockey coach, mentor and friend. Rest easy good friend. Thoughts are with the entire family. 

I had a wonderful opportunity to work for some months with Jamie on a Sask Poly project a few years ago. He was as personable and professional as they come, in some ways harking back to earlier days where a handshake was all that was required to get things moving.  Even when working under the gun with some very ambitious deadlines, Jamie was task focused but always with a lively sense of humour.  Above all else he had an innate ability to look beyond the status quo, to what could be accomplished given free rein to imagination and a lot of pluck.  Those are rare traits, and as a scholar and a gentleman, he shall be sorely missed, but always fondly remembered. 

My deepest condolences to Jamie's family. We were privileged to work with him, share in his vast knowledge, and learn from his mentorship. His sense of humour helped lighten many a long meeting and it was always exciting to find out where his vision would take us next. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to his family.  So surprised to learn of his passing. Prior to the pandemic I would see Jamie in the hallway on the 11th floor at the Regina Campus at least a few times a week. Always glad to engage in some conversation. I will miss him. 

Sending my thoughts and love out as you mark the heart clock with Jamie moving on without us. He was a joker and a super fun guy to have started university with and all of us will have so many one liners to share from our paths crossing.  I saw him on occasion in the last few years and it was great to catch up and share memories of Indian Head. Big hugz to those feeling his leaving and I hope his laughter will carry you through this time.

Irene, Debbie and family… we are so shocked and saddened to hear of Jamie’s passing. Such a huge loss to his family and friends.  There are just no words to ease your pain and grief but please know that we are thinking of you all at this tragic time. Jamie was definitely one of a kind and always a fun guy to be around. Although we grew up in slightly different eras, Jamie and I had a fairly immediate bond when he came to work at SIAST (Sask. Polytechnic).   We agreed that “You can take the boy out of Indian Head, but you can’t take Indian Head out of the boy”. We had many great conversations over Saturday lunches at Bonzinis, where we discussed the issues of the day (and,  we beloved, solved many of them). I considered him to be more of a friend than a colleague and will miss those conversations greatly. I’ll remember Jamie for his sense of loyalty to his family, friends and colleagues. His family certainly has the right to be proud of his legacy. 

Jamie sat a few rows below me at the old Taylor Field. There were many times when he would climb up the metal benches, prop up a leg, and chat with me about the game. We visited a few times in his office, and we always talked football and never work. He was a valued colleague, a friendly face, and a good man. I cherish our conversations, and will never forget his Saskatchewan pride. RIP Jamie.
