Ethel Nemeth

April 18, 1927 - December 30, 2012 On Sunday, December 30, 2012, Ethel Nemeth, passed away peacefully following a short stay at Indian Head Hospital at the age of 85. Ethel is survived by Zigmond, her husband of 61 years. Her daughter Lori (Wayne) Holzapfel of Indian Head; children Shari Petty, Danny Petty and Kevin Petty (Kathryn Palmer). Her son Jim (Kelly) Nemeth of Lestock; children Cory (Tanya) Nemeth, Danica and Lochlin, Robby (Ashley) Nemeth, Rory, Carter and Conner and Michael Nemeth (Kaylee Krieger) and Blair. Ethel was predeceased by her parents Mike and Martha Macza, brothers George and Mike Macza, Mikeís wife Helen and son-in-law George Petty. Mom was raised on the family farm in the Lestock area. She married Zigmond on November 6, 1951 where they farmed 2 miles south of where she grew up. Mom worked very hard on the farm, she loved to work in her flower beds and garden and was still canning the produce this past summer. Her love of baking, sewing and crafts has been passed on to her children and grandchildren. In later years, even with diminishing health she was able to care for Zigmond and live in her own home until her passing. Over the years, company was always welcome with tea/coffee and lunch always ready. A very special Thank You to all the Home Care staff who visited mom over the past few years. Your wonderful care and compassion will always be remembered, you enabled mom to stay at home with dad until only a few days prior to her passing. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Josephís R.C. Church, Indian Head, SK. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. George Thattuparampil. Interment in Indian Head Cemetery. Prayers will be held in the Churhc on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 917 Albert Street, Regina, SK. S4R 2P6 may be tokens of remembrance.
