John was born in Batesville, AR and moved to Kansas City in 1963. He remained in Kansas City until his passing. John was a heavy equipment operator.
John was preceded in death by his parent, Mercy Teresa (Wiltrout) Sims and John Henry Sims; two brothers, Jeff Samuel Mason and Albert James Mason. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Roberts of South Pittsburg, TN; Granddaughters, Loretta (Jim) Marvin of Fayetteville, NC and Falisha Graham of South Pittsburg, TN; Four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Mary Alice Kirby of Anderson, MO, Rosa Mae Crouch of Grain Valley, MO, and Betty Lee O'Neal of Independence, MO; a brother; Howard Ray Mason of Oak Grove, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 11am-12pm at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO 64050. Interment to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
