She was the daughter of Ngong Mawien Dut and Akon Deng Alek She was born in Turalei, South Sudan on January 01, 1992. She had three sisters and one brother. As a child, Angie enjoyed spending time with her cousins and neighborhood friends. She had an amazing memory and told entertaining stories, with a hint of exaggeration. Even in her last days, she told stories from throughout her life, and she had a dream of going back to school to finish her education. Her childhood was an idyllic time in her life, which she recalled fondly.
She migrated to Kenya in the 2000s, and lived in Eldoret, Kenya. She immigrated to the USA in 2006 and lived in Arizona before she relocated to Kansas.
She attended Olathe North High School and graduated in 2010. She attended Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS, where she had planned to major in nursing.
She is survived by her 9-year-old son Alor, her father, siblings, and her uncle Dut Mawien. She is also survived by her beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A prayer service for Aguek will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Community Impact Church, 7456 Nieman Rd, Shawnee, Kansas. A visitation will occur Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7456 Nieman Rd, Shawnee, KS 66203. A committal service will occur at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 Black Bob Road, Olathe, Kansas.
