Marjorie J Greene

Marjorie Jeanne Greene of South Yarmouth, died August 5, 2010 at Cape Cod Hospital from complications related to Myasthenia Gravis. Wife of the late Franklin Taft Greene. Loving mother of son Franklin Greene and his wife Linda Greene of West Yarmouth, son Christopher E. Greene and his late wife Amy Greene of South Yarmouth, son Brendan L. Greene of South Yarmouth and daughter Christina Luke and her husband A.J. Luke of South Yarmouth. Beloved grandmother of of Erika Lomba, Jason Greene, Nicole Greene, Samantha Luke, Savannah Luke and Trevor Luke. Great grandmother to Robert Lomb, Alyssa Lomba and Jayla Greene.

Born in Stamford, Connecticut. Marjorie has been a resident of South Yarmouth for 60 years. Known to her friends as Jeanne, she worked for Dumont’s Pharmacy in Hyannis before marrying Franklin Greene in March of 1949. Marjorie has been the owner of Hunter’s Green Motel since 1970. Marjorie was a parishioner of St. Pius the Tenth Chruch in South Yarmouth.

Marjorie leaves behind a sister, Arlene Savarese of Tennessee and half sister Bernice Kelly of New York. She also leaves a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Carol Greene of Connecticut as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was a dedicated and devoted mother to her family. Her passions included gardening, cooking and raising orchid plants.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday August 10 from 4-8pm at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home 160 W. Main St. Hyannis.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 11 at 11am at St. Pius the Tenth Church in South Yarmouth. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities USA P.O. Box 17066 Baltimore MD. 21297
