James A. Bancroft

James Andrew Bancroft, known to his loved ones as Jim, passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 58 in Dubai, UAE. Born on January 6, 1965, in New Bedford, MA, Jim was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Godfather. His infectious smile and caring nature touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jim was deeply invested in his faith community and dedicated many years to teaching religious education and confirmation classes. He found immense joy in spreading laughter and joy, guiding and protecting those in need, and always approached life with a smile on his face. However, nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by his beloved wife, children, and grandchild.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cyndi Bancroft (nee Eagar), and their children Robert, Matthew, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Lucas. Jim was also a cherished father-in-law to Samantha and Jenna, and a doting grandfather to Ruby. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters Bob and Lisa, Val and Jim Kelly, Mary (widow of Shaun), Ted and Patty, Eileen and Paul Neary, June Bancroft and Jeff Lucas, Eric and Rachael and many adored nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Shaun, his mother June Manssuer, and his father Robert.

To honor and celebrate Jim's life, a wake has been planned for Friday, January 12th, from 4PM-8PM at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis, MA. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13th, at 11AM at Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Osterville, MA.

Jim's kind heart, unwavering faith, and loving spirit will forever be remembered and cherished by all those whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
