In addition to raising her children, Carol was active in the Town of Westwood where she participated in several local associations and enjoyed bridge, skiing, and cycling. She had a strong interest in the arts, particularly the Boston Ballet and Boston Museum of Fine Arts, where she often said she felt particularly at home visiting its Egyptian collection. In later years in Centerville, she pursued an interest in flying, enjoying glider flights and taking some flying lessons.
