Virginia Long Garland

She was an active member of The Church of God on Shields Road, Huntsville, AL

Virginia was born and raised in Iaeger, WV and graduated from Ieager High School. She was first and foremost a housewife and mother. She retired from the food industry in 1994, where she worked for many years.

Left to cherish Virginia are daughter Susan Pennington of Hazel Green, AL, son Luther Edward Kennedy of Rome, GA, three sisters; Lynda G Rice of Roderfield, WV, Reginia Bailey of Ft. Myers, FL, and Patricia Sizemore of Bluefield, WV, several nieces, nephews, and special great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Garland, parents Herman L. Ling and Ethel Rutherford Long, three; brothers Luther Alvin Long, Edward Kinder Long, and Douglas H Long, one sister Anita Auville.

A visitation for Virginia will be held Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 1:00PM with Funeral service at 2:00PM officiated by Pastor Brian Shump at Valhalla Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be nephews and special friends of her church.
