Sheila M. McCord

Sheila M. McCord, age 61, of Brentwood, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, 24 September 2022. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama on 3 December 1960. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Thomas McCord and Rachel White McCord and is survived by her brother, Kevin L. McCord (Marcia Richmond McCord) and nephew, Collin H. McCord.

Sheila had a long and successful career working on the Redstone Arsenal where she was the Branch Chief over Depot Maintenance for the US Army Aviation and Missile Command. During her time there, she met many people who would become dear lifetime friends.

An avid traveler herself, Sheila enjoyed being an amateur travel agent, helping plan out detailed itineraries for friends and family alike. Sheila was an accomplished baker, as well as a cook, and loved preparing meals and baking treats for family and friends. She was a frequent host to dinner parties and events in her neighborhood, and she was also a pet lover, having spent 20 years “mothering” her cat Hal, and then spending the last 5 years spoiling her dog, Elsa.

A Visitation for Sheila will be held Tuesday, 27 September 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811. A Celebration of Life Service will be occur Wednesday, 28 September 2022 at 11:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Home.
