Ruby Nell Williams

Mrs. Ruby Nell Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2024 at the age of 90 surrounded by family. Ruby was born the youngest of 11 children in Franklin County, Alabama to Hubert and Doskie Chance. Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved son; Wallace “Wally” Carey and grandson; Clay Carey as well as her parents and 10 siblings.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 62 years; Mr. Boyce Williams her son; Mike Williams (Michele), three grandchildren; Amanda Degenhart (Austin), Morgan Barton (Nick), and Mikaela Williams, four great grandchildren; Addison, Eli, Weston, and Wyatt, several nieces and nephews.

Ruby and her husband Boyce lived for a short period of time in Chicago, Illinois and eventually made their way back to Alabama, moving to Huntsville where they spent the past 56 years. Ruby enjoyed sewing, traveling, going to the lake, watching sports, having meals with her loved ones, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Ruby retired from Palco Telecom where she soldered circuit boards for the refurbishment of telephones. Prior to that, she worked for General Telephone and Electronics (GTE). Ruby attended the Union Grove Church of Christ in New Market, Alabama until she became homebound.

You may visit with the family on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL.35811.
