Phillip Ray Brown

Phillip Ray Brown, age 84, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away peacefully at his home on March 28, 2023. Ray was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee on December 21, 1938. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Norma Spurgeon Brown; his parents, Fred and Evelyn Brown of Fayetteville, Tennessee; his younger brother, William Collins Brown and his granddaughter, Amanda Brown Headrick.

Ray is survived by his children, Boyd Brown (Pam), Wayne Brown (Cindy), Mike Brown (Karen), and Cynthia Brown; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Ray also has one brother, Jimmy Van Brown (Betty), one sister, Mary Fonda George (John); sister-in-laws, Donna Brown, Carolyn Spurgeon, Dorothy Spurgeon; brother-in-law, Don Roberts.

Ray retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years. He enjoyed several part-time jobs after retirement to keep himself busy, and acquired many friendships along the way. Ray was a family man and always put them first. He loved his friends, and he will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Graveside Service for Phillip Ray Brown will be Saturday April 8, 2023 at 2:00pm at Valhalla Memory Gardens, Huntsville, AL in the Serenity Garden.
