Margaret "Kathy" Kathleen Cook, age 80, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Kathy was born November 18, 1941, in Missouri to Pearl and Earl Feind and grew up in Rolla, Missouri.
Kathy was known for her sweet spirit and beautiful smile. She was a lover of books, leading her to earn a PhD and a successful career as a librarian at Southern Illinois University and West Virginia University for many years. She loved to travel, play the stock market and live at the lake in Scottsboro, Alabama, where she could spend time fishing with her family. She had a lifelong commitment to volunteering and had a very caring heart for those who needed help.
Kathy is survived by her husband and love of her life for over 61 years, Echol “Bud” Cook; her daughter Dawn Horn (Steve); her daughter Gina Best (Zachary); and four grandchildren Allison Horn, Michael Horn, Caden Best and Luke Best, as well as her sister Judy Stigall (Ed).
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Dorothy Pearl Feind, and sister Rosemary Feind.
A visitation for Kathy will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM.
