Joseph “Joe” Crawford transitioned this life peacefully on Friday, March 25th, 2016. Joe was the son of the late David Demostheses and Mary Emma Smith Crawford. He was born in Dadeville, Alabama. There were six children born to this union; two brothers, Albert “Al” (deceased) and Lambert; and three sisters, Alice, Olive (deceased), and Patience (deceased).At a very young age, Joe joined the Haven Chapel United Methodist Church in Dadeville, Alabama, and as he moved to various cities around the United States, he remained strongly involved with the United Methodist Church. Joe, first married Mary Blackwell. To this union a son, Joseph Carleton, was born. In 1964, Mary Crawford became very ill and entered eternal life. Joe later met Lula Davis and they were married in 1970. Two sons, Mark Albert and Byron Christopher, were born to this union. Joe’s love for God and nature was a life-long theme. His horticultural knowledge, mechanical acumen, and industrial nature were highly regarded. Moreover, his love for his family, especially his grandchildren, was well known to all. Joe is survived by his three sons to cherish his memory: Joseph Carleton Crawford of Huntsville, Alabama; Mark Albert (Erika) Crawford of Edina, Minnesota and Byron Christopher (Jasmine) Crawford of Seattle, Washington; five grandchildren: Marshall Crawford of Tacoma, Washington; Michael, Morgan, and Elise Crawford of Edina, Minnesota and Ruby Crawford of Seattle Washington; two siblings: Dr. Alice C. Jenkins of Huntsville, Alabama and Lambert (Ida) Crawford of Brownsboro, Alabama; a sister-in-law: Evelyn Crawford of Flemington, New Jersey; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, great-grand nieces, great-grand nephews, cousins and friends.
