Jo Ann Bland Ballenger passed away Monday October 16, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 26, 1940, in Walker County AL and has resided in Huntsville since 1971 where she was a member of Highlands Baptist Church. Jo Ann taught Sunday School and Pre-school.
Her hobbies included travelling, gardening and quilting; she was a member of multiple quilting groups in Huntsville. Jo Ann was preceded by her husband of 56 years Harold James Ballenger; sisters Mary Griffin and Betty Golden and brothers Dale Bland and Howard Bland.
She is survived by her brother Floyd Bland; son Jason Ballenger; daughter Cheryl Forbes and husband David; grandchildren Megan Penick her husband Sam, Andrew Forbes his wife Katie and great grandchildren Jameson, Bennett and Madilyn.
Celebration Jo Ann's life will be Saturday October 21 at Valhalla Funeral Home Huntsville AL with visitation at 11:00 AM and a service at 12:00. In leu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association Alabama Chapter.
