The Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35811 with First Baptist Church of Huntsville officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:00pm Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Valhalla Funeral Home.
Ed was born in Baileyton, Alabama on August 29, 1937. He graduated from St. Bernard College and continued on to receive a Master’s degree and a PhD from Ohio State University.
Ed was married to Mary Norwood on November 27, 1958; they were married for 60 years.
Ed retired from the United States Air Force as a Lt Col. after serving his country for 20 years. He later became a Professor at Alabama A&M University in the Biology Department where or taught for 23 years. He was an avid lifelong Alabama football fan, Roll Tide!
Ed is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Mark (Rhonda) and Mitch (Karen); grandchildren, Gary (Sara), Matt (Ashley), Josh, and Savannah; six great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings.
