Virginia “Ginny” E. Oden, 93 passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Ginny worked as a bus driver for 25 years, starting in 1969 and retiring in 1994. She continued to sub after 1994. She was a graduate of Huntington Township High School and attended St. Peters First Community Church. Ginny enjoyed playing cards and games with her club, she loved fishing and enjoyed her vacations in Wisconsin.
She was born July 1, 1928 the daughter of the late Paul and Clella (Harris) Bouman.
She was united in marriage to Herb Oden on June 20, 1948 in Huntington. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include a son: Michael “Mick” (Donna) Oden of Huntington; a daughter: Diane (Mike) Atkinson of Noblesville; four grandchildren: Jason (Brittany) Oden, Jared Oden, Janell (Aaron Downey) Oden, and Heather Clark; and four great grandchildren: Ross Oden, Bryson Oden, Blake Murphy, and Blaze Murphy.
Ginny was preceded in death by a grandson: Jeremy Oden; a sister: Maribelle Bechstein; two brothers: Dee Bouman and Robert Bouman
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.
