Tommie "Tom" Lee Whitesell, 75 of North Manchester, passed away on Thursday morning, October 10, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Tom had worked for 30 years at Majestic in Huntington as a Set-up man and was a member of the Steel Workers union. He was a 1969 graduate of Huntington High School and later served in the U.S. Army spending some time in Germany. Tom enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, tinkering with things around the house, Disney films and watching NCIS. His greatest joys were tormenting the grandkids and being called "Old Man" by family and friends.
Tom was born on April 25, 1949 in Huntington, a son of the late Franklin R. and Clara K. (Larr) Whitesell.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Ann White on September 1, 1973 in Andrews. She preceded him in death on November 22, 2021.
Survivors include a son: Chris (Anna) Whitesell of Huntington and a daughter: Susan (Chip) McPeak of Warsaw; three grandchildren: Laney, Gavin and Arabella; a brother: Neil Whitesell of Ligonier and three sisters: Nancy Houser, Cathie Lyons and Darlene Whitesell all of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Rick Whitesell.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
Memorial Services will also take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation at the Funeral Home.
