Mark Leonard Rice

Mark Leonard Rice, 56 of Huntington passed away at 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital. Mark was a 1974 graduate of Huntington North High School. He later graduated from Ivy Tech Culinary School in Fort Wayne. He was Director of Food Services at Manchester College for several years. He was co-owner and operator of Mainstreet Antiques in North Manchester. He previously was a chef at several restaurants in the Tampa Florida area.

He was born on November 26, 1955 in Huntington County, a son of Robert E. and Mary A. (Shrock) Rice.

Survivors include his father: Robert E. Rice of Warren; three sisters: Roberta K. Williams of Huntington; Carol (Mike) Friedman-Bowers of Huntington; Susan (John) Mills of Majenica; a brother: Christopher (Ellen) Rice of Huntington and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Mary A. Rice.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Kathy Newton officiating.
