Kelli S. Koontz, 58 of Huntington passed away at 11:52 am on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Huntington County. Kelli was a graduate of Huntington North High School. She had worked at Our Sunday Visitor for 18 years. She was a life time member of American Legion Post 85 where she volunteered at many different positions and was also a member of their Ladies Auxiliary, life member of the VFW Post 2689 and was a co-worker of the Women of the Moose Chapter 255. Kelli loved the outdoors and the sun; she enjoyed singing and dancing and spending time with family and friends. Kelli had a heart of gold, always wanting to help others.
Kelli was born on November 10, 1959 in Huntington, the daughter of Merritt and Connie (Hiatt) Hethcote.
Survivors include: two daughters: Nikki (Sage) Thompson of Huntington; Brooke Vogleman of Huntington; four sisters: Kristi Young of North Manchester; Monica Spurlock of Andrews; Brenda Wood of Fort Wayne; Joy Conley of Huntington; a brother: Brad Hethcote of Andrews; her father: Merritt Hethcote of Warren; six grandchildren: Trenton, Keagan, Kailyn, Kristin, Seth and Maclure.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Connie Heyde, two brothers: Jeffri Hethcote, Michael Morris; a sister: Tina Richardson and her beloved dog: Keko.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery in Huntington County.
