Carrie Anne Thomas, 52 of Roanoke passed away Saturday morning November 4,2023 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. Carrie was a 1990 graduate of Huntington North High School then attended International Business College and had graduated with the 1st Paralegal class. She worked at Haller & Colvin PC for 28 years and was a paralegal for Robert Eherenman and Mark GiaQuinta. Carrie was the Indiana Paralegal Newsletter editor from 2012 until her passing. Carrie was awarded the North East Indiana Paralegal of the year in 2013. She also was a Huntington County 4-H Leader for over 30 years and had been named the Outstanding 4-H Leader in 2005. She loved to read, sew and garden (flowers and vegetables). Carrie was a great cook and baker, if there was a gathering, Carrie always seemed to bring the perfect food or dessert. She found joy in any occasion and never met a stranger. She especially loved Christmas, snow, her nieces and nephews and of course, Purdue sports. Carrie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Roanoke. She helped on the Altar Guild, General Guild, the Pie Crew and the Christmas decorating group. Carrie’s dreams were fulfilled while working with David on their grain and livestock farm.
Carrie was born on August 28, 1971 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Ron and Chris (Blain) Melcher.
She was united in marriage to David Thomas on July 3, 2009, her husband survives.
Additional survivors include her parents; brothers: Matt (Gayle) Melcher and Tim (Marcey) Melcher; a brother in law: Steve (Amy) Thomas; Parent in laws: Nelson and Waneta Thomas; and her nieces and nephews: Emma, Katie, Tyler, Ainsley, Marin, Jillian, Karrigan, Ryan and Darin
Visitation will take place on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church 3416 E. 900 N. Roanoke, IN 46783
Funeral services will take place on Saturday November 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with one hour visitation prior to the service at Faith Lutheran Church, Roanoke.
Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Roanoke.
