Pearl Alice Walter

Born on August 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Louis Walter and the late Miriam Campbell Walter. Following her father’s death, Pearl became guardian to some of her younger siblings.

A graduate of Olney High School, she worked many years as a bookkeeper.

Pearl was a Sunday school teacher at Lawndale Methodist Church. She volunteered for Aid for Friends and worked with the church youth group. Later, Pearl became a member of Good Shepherd Methodist Church in Philadelphia, where she had many friends.

Pearl enjoyed traveling, dining out (seafood was her favorite), the beach, her family's dogs and her favorite sports team, the Phillies.

Surviving Pearl are her nine siblings; Anna Histand (Albert), Geraldine Heck, Richard Walter, Irene Dunne, Kathryn Klaus (Edward), Amy Fleming (Samuel), Robert Walter, Sharon Bermender, Diane Huff (James), several nieces and nephews and their families and dear friend, Barbara Sweeney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; William, Earl, Louis and Ellwood.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Good Shepherd Methodist Church, 10901 Calera Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, with Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. Following the service, burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
