Melinee was born on August 12, 1933, in New York City, NY, to parents Donabed and Yeranouhi (Tavitian) Donabedian. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1951. Her early years included working as an administrative assistant at Philadelphia Magazine. She later went on to own and operate a successful dry-cleaning business for more than 35 years with her husband Vahakn.
Melinee enjoyed crafts, making homemade greeting cards, and shopping, especially on QVC. She truly enjoyed giving rather than receiving. Melinee was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.
Melinee was preceded in death by her parents Donabed and Yeranouhi Donabedian, and her husband of 45 years Vahakn Derassouyan.
Melinee is survived by her son Vaughn, daughter in-law Andrea, and granddaughter Alexandria.
Family and friends are invited to attend a two-hour Visitation on Wednesday, April 3rd, at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA, from 10:00am – 12:00pm, with a Service to follow.
