Karl was born on May 24, 1928 in Sankt Andres (current Sinandrei), Romania, to parents, Peter and Eva (Kihm) Kesselgruber, of German descent.
At the age of 21, Karl arrived in Philadelphia, where his American grandfather, his Uncle Charles and Aunt Margaret, and the Kihm family very generously took him under their wing. In 1954, he married Kathe Prungel. They settled in the Olney section, then subsequently moved to the Somerton section in 1979. They were married for 60 years. Karl was employed as a cement finisher and after retirement, enjoyed gardening.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Catherine Engelman (Richard).
Karl was preceded in death by his wife; parents; in-laws, John (Hans) and Katherina Prungel; as well as his siblings, Nicholas, Joseph, Peter Kesselgruber and Elizabeth Oprea.
A private bereavement and burial will be held.
