Roel "Roy" Chavez Barrera

Roel attended James Bowie Elementary and Jefferson Davis High School. He worked for St. Joe Paper Company and retired after 35 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his father Roberto Pablo Barrera; mother Adela Chavez Barrera and brother Roseberto Barrera.

He is survived by his 3 loving sons Roel Roy Barrera, Jr. and wife Linda, Joel Barrera and Wes Barrera and wife Claudia; grandchildren Mia, Wes Jr.,and Ian; brothers Raul Barrera, Ramiro Barrera and Maria, Ricardo Barrera and Jenny; sister Shirley Sportell and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Roy will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. A celebration of life will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. A graveside service will occur Friday, July 14, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338.
