Lorraine Rose Rodewald

Lorraine was born April 15, 1933 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to William and Rose (Kettelhut) Freier. She spent her childhood on three farms in Berrien County. Graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1950 and attended Benton Harbor Community College.

Lorraine married Elson (Bud) Rodewald February 14, 1969 and they enjoyed more than 35 years of marriage.

Lorraine worked at Salem Lutheran Church as Secretary to Pastor Kipp. She then went on to receive her Real Estate Brokers license and practiced Real Estate until moving to Houston in 1981. While in Houston she became Vice President Corporate Trust at Bank of Montreal/Harris Bank until her retirement. Lorraine was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Lorraine’s parents and husband preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons-Douglas Ronald (Sheila) Baiers, Marc William Baiers, and one daughter, Julie Ann Baiers, and a sister Joan (Earl) Kasischke. She is also survived by three stepsons-Gary Elson (Wendy) Rodewald, Randall Edward (Sandra) Rodewald, Eric (Kathlynne) Rodewald and two stepdaughters-Marilou (David) Balsis, and Wendy Jane Rodewald; and several grandchildren.

A Service will be held Wednesday, September 18, 10:15 AM at Houston National Cemetery where Lorraine will be laid to rest.
