Lori was born on April 24, 1974 in Houston, Texas. She leaves behind her father, Patricio Garcia, Sisters Patty Garcia and Christina Joseph, and Brother Ramon Garcia, nephews Gavin Garcia, David Lovett III and Donavin Lovett. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosalinda Garcia.
Lori had a love for the special people in her life – God, her family, her countless friends and especially her three nephews, Gavin, Tre and Donavin; who referred to her as “puddin’ pie”. To Lori, her nephews were just like her sons that she never had. She loved and adored them all dearly. She took care of them; going to great lengths to make sure they had anything they needed. It made her happy to be able to do things for them and they in turn were grateful for everything that she did.
At the age 13, Lori was diagnosed with lupus. The type of lupus Lori had is known to attacks the body’s organs and Lori lost her kidney function about 10 years after being diagnosed. After being on dialysis for some time, she was fortunate that she was a recipient of new kidney and received a kidney transplant in 1998.
After her transplant Lori did very well and even began taking some college level classes through the community college hoping to get a degree. About 10 years after her transplant, her kidney’s failed once again and she has been on dialysis for the last couple of years.
Up until her the time of her death, Lori had been taking care of small children at her Church’s daycare - a job that brought her a lot of joy. She was known to post how excited she was about “getting to see her babies” on Facebook.
Despite, dialysis three times per week, working at her church and her family, not much slowed Lori down. She was always on the go. She liked staying busy. Lori had a heart of gold and did whatever she could to for those special people in her life. She will be missed by so many family and friends. May God Bless Her.
