Scott C. Hinkle, 89, of Modesto was born in Colorado and passed away peacefully at The Stratford at Beyer Park on February 3, 2024. Scott spent his life dedicated to his family. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the Air Force, retiring at the rank of Lt. Colonel. After military retirement, he was an automobile salesman for over 20 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, gardening, hunting, and traveling. He also never missed watching a San Francisco 49ers game or an Air Force Falcons football game.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa. He is survived by his three children, Cindy Minter (and her husband, Pat), Cheryl Prater (and her husband, Terry), Scott R. Hinkle (and his former wife, Danielle), five grandchildren, Nicole (and her husband, Nicholas), Kyle, Melissa (and her husband, Joe), Hailey and Elena, and seven great-grandchildren, Brodey, Owen, Craig, Emily, TJ, Mattis and Gunnar. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Fran West and niece, Jodi Dent (and her husband, Randy) all from Arkansas, along with nieces and nephews from Colorado.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Georgia Hinkle. He is also preceded in death by his father, Scott Hinkle, his mother, Hattie Hinkle, three older brothers and one sister all from Colorado, and his brother-in-law, Terry West from Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1:00pm at the gravesite at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Sante Fe, Hughson.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Animal Humane Society or American Heart Association. We thank all of the wonderful people at The Stratford at Beyer Park and Seva Hospice who helped the family by providing our Dad with peace, comfort and care.
