Phyllis Martha Muirhead August 26, 1918 - March 11, 2017 Phyllis Martha Muirhead, a longtime Modesto resident, died peacefully at her home March 11, 2017 surrounded by family. Born August 26, 1918 in San Francisco, Phyllis retired after 29 years at Stanislaus County Assessor's office in 1981. She was a graduate of Ceres High School and San Joaquin College of Cosmetology. She was a member of the McHenry Museum where she served as a docent for many years, Ceres Historical Society, and lifetime member of the Coulterville Museum. She attended Trinity Presbyterian Church. Phyllis loved playing bridge with her friends, painting, gardening and had a passion for researching genealogy. She was preceded in death by her parents Philip David and Hattie May Connell, husband William Herbert Muirhead, son Richard Muirhead, sister Frances Markim and niece Carol Connell. She is survived by her son Philip Muirhead, Grandchildren Cindy Cope, Susan Leu, Nancy Miller, Sean Muirhead, and Morgan Macauley, Great Grandchildren Charles Vogel, Kenneth Cope, Alyssa Coker, Christopher Cope, Adam Miller, Samantha Look, Connor Platt, and Shelby Platt, Great Great Grandson Charlie Vogel, Niece Diana Dunn, and Caregiver and friend Prisca Provence. Services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park, Heritage Chapel, in Hughson California on Monday March 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM.
