Leonard Harold Dunkel

Mr. Dunkel was a native of Coulterville, but resided in Modesto since 1967. Leonard was a truck driver until April of 1983, then went into construction work. Mr. Dunkel belonged to the Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 since Sept. 1989 and the Loyal Order of Moose #1608 since March 1993 to March of 2002. He retired on December 31, 2015. He loved to travel, hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife Janice Dunkel, his stepsons Carl Gisler (Diana) and Sherman Gisler, grandsons Joey Gisler (Chelsie), great grandsons Chase Riley, Colt Gisler and Cash Gisler, his father Carroll Dunkel (Rita), his sister Karen Johnston and his brother Christian Owens.

A visitation for Leonard will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home - Heritage Chapel, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 11:00 AM, at Lakewood Funeral Home - Heritage Chapel, Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA 95326.
