Boyd William Camper, age 83, of Escalon, California passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. Boyd was a beacon of joy and a beloved child of God. His quick wit and contagious chuckle commonly lured people closer to experiencing his caring heart that left a lasting impact on the lives of many, most importantly to him, his wife of 37 years. Boyd was a proud Veteran, having served 4 years in the Navy as a Naval Aviator during the Vietnam War and was an accomplished mechanic both in his career and as a hobby. From his ‘55 Chevy, to his motorcycle, and every bicycle in between, Boyd loved and appreciated anything with an engine or wheels, and found joy in bringing broken things back to life. He was commonly found tinkering away in his garage, humming a tune from the 50’s, only interrupted for the occasional sip of a Pepsi, and every opportunity to kiss his wife. He was an avid collector with a fine eye for details, and spent many fun weekends with his wife exploring garage sales and flea markets, seeking their next great find. As a lifelong Bay Area sports fan, he loved to cheer on the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. He loved games and was a challenging opponent on a pool table or a bowling alley, but always complimented his skills with excellent sportsmanship. Above all else, Boyd loved spending quality time with his friends and family, and took every opportunity to celebrate the love he had found and nurtured, making his Christmas parties some of the best in Escalon. He inspired people to love wholeheartedly and to do the right thing, especially when it seemed like the hardest path to walk. He will always be admired as a strong foundation of love, encouragement and support to many, and will be incredibly missed.
"The road is wide and you can't step it! I love you, and you can't heppit!"
