They say over time things will get easier when you lose someone.  Well I don't see that has happened as Bonnie was such an important part of my life.  Though she was my older sister I looked at her as a mother figure since we lost ours when I was only 9 years old.  I think of her every day and miss her so much.  What I would give to have one more day with her.

I remember one hot summer day when we were water skiing at Don Pedro. Everyone had come in for the day, I think I must have been about 19, and Bonnie and I sat in the van while everyone else was off doing whatever they were doing, and we had a wonderful conversation about . . . I don't even remember. I was 19 and so it probably wasn't so deep. Most likely about boys. But I remember we were laughing and I was thinking how nice it was to spend some time alone with her. I didn't get many chances to do that, and when I think of Bonnie, I think of that day.  

She was in her bikini and a little pair of shorts and looked gorgeous, as she tended to do. She was tanned and was a total California girl. Athletic, and healthy. She had a certain grace about her. It was a quiet grace. It didn't scream at you, but rather calmed you down. She was always very kind to me. 

To John, Julia,  her brothers, sisters, and the kids, you have my deepest sympathies. She was such a lovely person and I will miss her. 

Hearing of Bonnie's passing brought back a flood of memories of my childhood.  My family spent many, many, MANY weekends with "John and Bonnie" as I came to know them, windsurfing at various locations around the State.  They were always both so supportive of my love of the sport and came to my aid on several occasions (both John and Bonnie) when I found myself in trouble or in conditions  a bit above my skill level.  They were always there to offer me a bite to eat when I stayed out all day, never taking a break to eat or drink water, and would come in dizzy from lack of food and (more than likely!) dehydration.  Best story I can tell of Bonnie was when she was a key part of the small group that helped remove a rather nasty, rusty, barbed fishing hook that had pierced all the way through my foot (between the big toe and next toe!) on an amazing day at San Luis Reservoir near Santa Nella.  Bonnie took charge of the group, directing folks about how to best deal with my wound, John supplied the Tequila (to pour on the wound as I was far too young to drink!), Bill Yard helped hold my leg down, and Bonnie, very assuredly, shoved the nasty thing all the way out of my foot in the reverse direction (so the barbs didn't shred my foot even more)!  She saved my day by doing that and I've always been appreciative as I was testing a brand new board in absolutely perfect conditions that day (I had stepped on the hook while walking my rig to the water)!  It had a blood stain, embedded in the fiberglass, for its entire existence from that day!  It always reminded me of Bonnie Webb is the point.   As I likely would've been whisked away to the Santa Nella emergency room had it not been for her taking charge of the situation!  Wonderful woman.  I'm very sorry to hear of her passing.  Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Bonnie was a beautiful lady and a fearless sailor. We will miss her.

We will miss you Aunt Bonnie. We have wonderful memories of boating, camping, and water skiing with you and John and will always remember your laugh. You were a fine nurse who was always willing to help with medical questions. I will NEVER forget the time we were sll watching the movie Halloween, we all screamed at the surprise ending just ss poor Cindy walked in and heard us scream, so she screamed too, then we screamed again and ended up laughing till tears were streaming down our faces at the silliness of scaring ourselves and each other. Always in our hearts, love Carrie & Hugo

We are so sorry to hear of Bonnie’s passing. We all knew each other in our younger years and Bonnie was an absolute blast. She loved water sports and was an avid windsurfer. She and John traveled wherever there was water and wind. Our heartfelt sympathy’s and sincere condolences to John, and the rest of the family. 

Bon my heart is broken and I will miss you so much. You were not only my sister but you were like my second mom. You inspired me to become a nurse as you were and I always looked up to and your compassion to your patients.  You will never be forgotten. 

john and bonnie were regulars at the forebay.  our family of windsailors  created such excitement.... so many cool personalities sharing the wind and the water.  bonnie was a tiger.  she would not back down from the challenges.  she had a kind and fearless heart.  she will forever be in my favorite memories.  RIP Bonnie Jean
