Willie Mae Washington - Singer, 83, of New Orleans, Louisiana went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 22, 2020. She was born February 15, 1937 to parents Mary (Daisy) Washington and James Washington, Sr. She was the oldest of two children from the marriage.
Anyone who knew Ms. Willie Mae would know that she had a generous spirit. She loved her children, and she was a believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She was a very giving and loving person. If she had a dime, she would give you a nickel. Ms. Willie Mae loved a challenge and lived her life unapologetic. She had several life-long best friends; women who loved and appreciated her generous spirit. Exceptionally beautiful and crafty, she was smart in her own way. She was committed to education and learning. Every professional course she started she finished. She worked in the health care industry from several years as a Certified Nurses Aid. She studied cosmetology and welding. She took sewing classes, and also learned crocheting. One of her favorite pass times was going to the casino to play slot machines. After she retired from the City of Houston, she used her free time to transport seniors to medical appointments. She encouraged. She endured. She enjoyed. She was a soldier.
Ms. Willie Mae is preceded in death by her mother, Mary (Daisy) Washington, father, James Washington, Sr., brother, James Washington, Jr., son Bernard Hill and stepsister Alice Hester.
