Willie Mae Bean was born April 2, 1952 in Chataignier, Louisiana to Sidney & Annie Mae Bellard. She was the youngest of five children. Willie Mae attended school in Chataignier and later moved from Louisiana to Houston, TX where she raised her three daughters Debra Ann Mose, Sylvonna “Teacha” Mose, and Cassandra Mose White. Willie Mae was united in holy matrimony to James Bean on January 30, 1995. She attended St. Peter Claver Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Golden Harvest Senior Group.
Willie Mae loved caring for children and worked as a caregiver for over 30 years. She also loved the company of her friends and family, she was the hostess of many family gatherings. She loved to laugh and dance and always had a smile on her face. Willie Mae left a memorable mark on everyone she encountered with her unconditional love.
Willie Mae transitioned peacefully on August 23, 2022 at Memorial Hermann Northeast surrounded by family.
Willie Mae was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Mae Bellard; father, Sidney Bellard; her husband, James Bean; her daughter’s Debra Ann Mose and Sylvonna Mose; and her stepson, James Bean Jr. She will truly be missed by her daughter who was with her until the end, Cassandra White and (Darrell); Sisters Dorphillie Roberts, Sovelia Tezeno, and Jinnie Vee “Geneva” Bell all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Brother Lougune Bellard -Houston, TX; Stepson’s Anthony Bean (Cham), Darrell Bean (Martha), James Earl, Gary Bean (Betty); Stepdaughter Doris Lamb; Four Grandchildren- Jessica Dawson, Tromesha Hamm, Jasmin White, and Javon White; Two Great Grandchildren- Aaliyah Samuel and Rylen Gray and a host of other relatives and friends.
