Willie Marie Iden

Willie Marie Iden passed on from this earthly world and into the realm of God on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Willie is finally seeing the awesome face of God of which she spent so many years of her life faithfully praying to and alluding to in her writings and poetry.

Born on September 25, 1925 in Lovelady, TX and graduated from Lovelady High School. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church for many years and she loved everyone there.

Survived by her son Jim Iden, daughter in-laws LaRita Godbey and Janice Iden. Grandchildren Sara and Scott Martindale, Travis Iden, step grandchildren Thaddeus and Kate Godbey, Ryan and Jennifer Godbey, Taylor and Ann Godbey, Step Great grandchildren Tyler and Samantha, Ava, Oliver, Ryder, and Grayson Godbey. Step Great great-grandchildren Aiden and Owen Godbey. Nephews Larry Marsh, Bobby Gray, and Niece Cathy Ross and numerous other nephews and nieces, along with so many friends, as well as beloved companion Elizabeth Gitahi.

Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lillie Norwick, husband Herbert Iden, son David Iden, sisters Waldine Sonsel, and Grace Callaway.

Graveside services will be held at Antioch Cemetary, Lovelady, TX Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Marks UMC or Antioch Cememtary, Lovelady, TX.

Immediately following the service, lunch will be served in the gym of the old Lovelady High School.
